Oh, Emily! Wherefore Art Thou, Emily?

UPDATE: Emily is back. Yay! BTW, your comments about J. Crew and who may or may not be stalking our little blogs is very interesting. :) (Free crewcuts, please?)

Dear Emily (of Champagne and Cupcakes):

I just saw at J. Crew Aficionada that your blog is now private. Obviously I LOVE your blog. If you feel so inclined, I would love to be invited to continue viewing it!!!

You can e-mail me at dinagideon AT aim DOT com. Anyone else miss Emily?

Yours in Blog Friendship,
dinagideon.

I'm not surprised if she felt a little freaked out by JC stalking her personal blog! :/

blogger makes it too complicated to privatize. Can't you just 'friend' someone (a la livejournal, facebook, etc) instead of having to input their email/invite them to your blog?

Tastymoog: Oh, yeah...that is true...that was her last entry.

Hey, in addition to Emily, when you put your blog back up and if it is private...I totally want an invite! :)

Blogger does make it difficult...I wonder why...the technology is there to make it easier!

sure thing. :) I want to have a specific focus to my blog, but I always end up writing about jcrew... or baking cupcakes... not that those are bad topics! ;)

well I wrote about my obsession with Don Henley, so I am definitely no better! Actually that is the reason I picked "my superfluities." I figured all things could fall under the heading of "what do I have in overabundance right now?" :)

Thanks for the heads up Dina! I would also like an invite. I was a "follower" and didn't get one either. Thanks!

Oh crap, me too - come one now, give me an invite!!

I agree, Dina! I would love to be able to see Emily's blog, too! I have also posted on my blog, so if I hear anything, I will let you know. :)

Thanks, JTS...

I would be surprised if someone at J Crew is following, unless it is upper mgt. Mickey!! *lol* If they have a company policy against blogs, I would imagine someone is not logging in from the corporation unless they have clout. *shrugs*

I was wondering what happened to her. It doesn't seem weird to me that either J. Crew corporate or just some employee would be reading her blog. If it's the former, I would think that's a good thing. In either case, I don't think it's something to be freaked out about.

Gigi, I read the policy to mean employees were not supposed to blog on company time but it didn't prevent them from *reading* blogs.

emily, count me in. Knowing that everything i write is in the blogshere for eternity, i have decided to only talk fashion. Anything else, I will talk about via email/phone.

I'm sure that jcrew has a google alert set for anytime someone on the internet publishes their name. Last semester, one of my grad classes required that we keep a blog to publish some poems, stories, etc. I wrote this one poem about a biking excursion gone wrong, and the next day i got an email from the president of the bike trail (it's a very well-known trail in Virginia) saying they had gotten an alert about my poem and that they wanted to publish it on their website. Weird huh? Anyway, this random story is just to say that i'm sure jcrew has alerts set, and they check in on our blog just to make sure we're not dragging their name through the mud :)

You all are such sweethearts! For anyone that left a post yesterday, I am back. I just wanted to take a few things off the blog so I went private and then honestly I forgot to set it back to public. I saw Dina's post and immediately realized I had forgotten to set it back to public! I don't have an issue with J. Crew reading my blog, as it is a public blog, but I had a weird feeling that maybe someone at work had seen my blog.

Hi everyone who left a comment--this was a very interesting read.

I went ahead and signed up for stat counter...thank you, Emily, and so far no visits from ma and pa j. crew. Maybe someday? If some crewcuts start appearing at my door, I will know they have been spying on me.

Emily--I am glad you are back as are all these wonderful people! :) So thank goodness!
