So What Can I Post with 20 Minutes? P.S. AppGal and Ashley, I Made Something for You All!

Oh, I know what I can do with 20 minutes! I can post two polyvores and post a pic of all of us at Tyson's from Sunday's JCA get-together. YAY! No time to comment back on the last post (well, except for my EXCEEDINGLY long explanation of why I wear petite tops that I wrote yesterday)...that will just have to wait...

So my first polyvore (above) is for AppGal. She and Ashley said they wanted to see my poem to the Evening Primrose Garden Cardigan. I happily obliged. By the way, it is a TRULY awful poem, but the polyvore looks pretty!

The second polyvore (above) is what I purchased at Tyson's at the DC JCA event on Sunday. I had a return and with the 20% the total wasn't truly terrifying, but yikes...I definitely have more than enough for this fall.

Which brings to me to a question I have...I am cleaning out my closet and I wanted to get rid of some things. I don't have enough J. Crew to sell to make it worth it to sell on the Weekly Exchange over at JCA, but I am thinking of doing a blog devoted to my items, it feels (at least right now) that it would be less pressure and less time consuming than ebay. What do you think? (So you know most of the items I would be selling would be in EUC--excellent used condition--and between a size 6 and size 12.) Thank you, Gigiofca, for the great idea!

Here are all of us at the event. Everyone looked so pretty and summery. I also love that Rex wanted to be in the shot, too. No crewcuts, though. (I know...I know...what was I thinking?)

Have a great day, all!

So many things to comment on, even for a 20 minute post!

Oh my goodness, first of all, thank you for the distraction during class! I am sitting in the computer lab while my students work on a project, sniffling because I *think* I'm getting sick--over 150 students are out with the "flu" today...we're pumping germ-x every 5 minutes!!! This is perfect timing with grad school classes starting this week!

Your poem is lovely! I would SO teach this in my English classes :) I just love it! Especially taking your cardi to a party. Perfection!

Second, I can't wait to see IRL pics of your new purchases! esp. the tweed skirt and the knit dress! I saw the knit dress when I was in the store this weekend and passed on trying it on (I know! I passed on a knit dress!?!?!) because I didn't think I could pull off the collar. Maybe you can help me rethink it...

Third, to respond to your comment on my blog...I have already gotten the matchsticks, but in the short inseam. What do you think? Exchange them for the regular inseam? I had no idea the short inseam on matchsticks was shorter than normal!

Ooh, I am distracting you? Goody! You and others distracted me all last year...so now it is payback time. Heehee!

I think you should consider the knit dress...it is AWESOME...beautiful and comfy. And I purchased that wheat color, too, and it doesn't wash me out! YAY!

I think short inseams are just fine...I love showing off my shoes and I kind of get irritated by things bunching at my ankles (although that usually only happens to me with a 34" inseam). I think 30" hits you nicely on the upper ankle. Plus if this is the season of the anklet (cough cough) then you should get the shorter inseam. :) But at the end of the day what does your gut say?

Thanks for reading my lovely poem. Haha. I am glad to know you didn't die on the floor from reading it. ;)

Okay, I am going to CW...have a great day! Stay well!

I can't wait for your virtual swap/sell blog. You and I are similar sizes which means I can participate. You may inspire me to do my own.

Oh, I was rereading the Paris catalog and the picture of vanessa and her hat made me think of you and smile.

Great idea on the blog! Do you have any consignment stores you could use? I find ebay too time consuming for women's clothes, so I take everything to consignment.
I love that cardigan and your poem-- you are too cute!
Great new purchases, as well. That dress looks perfect for you!

Dina, what a wonderful picture of your JC outing, thank you for sharing! I love your outfit, such a happy color! I also purchased some of the same items as you from your polyvore, the ocelot cardi, the blushed tweed pencil and the perfect pencil in fresh plum. I tried on the Antique gold manor necklace in metallic bronze today, at the suggestion of my PS.... my initial reaction was that she was crazy, I thought it would be way too bulky for me! But, I tried it on and I love it!!! It is not overwhelming at all. I'm definitely going to pick it up in a few weeks, after I pay this months bill. :-) Enjoy your purchases!

Oh I love the picture of all of you together! You all looked so pretty. I am so mad I missed this event. Next time, no matter how much work needs to be done, I am not gonna miss hanging out with such a great group of ladies. :)
The poem is super funny too.
I had a lot of frustration with eBay so I think what a lot of other bloggers are doing (you know posting their items on their blog) is a great idea.

Dina- lovely pic, thanks for posting!Rex is a cutie pie and looks adorable among the ladies- perfect gentleman!!:)

Loved your ode to cardi, very sweet and the polyvore setting is gorgeous! I honstly think it is one of the best j Crew prints EVER.

I got the same dress you did!!! I know AnneG has one to and so many others. It is truly a great versatile piece. I wore mine today and got tons of compliments!

And thank you for all the encouragement!! I do feel like big baloon nowadays, lol!

Thanks for the link to mine! You'll do a nice blog. I say go for it. It's esp good for items that aren't in the latest rollout, so people can get a good look at them. My experience so far has been great and you can still post a notice on the weekly exch inviting people to head over.

Lovely Poly for AppGal. How sweet! Like the moon...

First, the poem. It is too cute! You are so funny! I have some serious love for my clothes, maybe I'll write them a sonnet! :)

P.S. Totally sell your stuff on your blog - it's your blog! :)

You ladies all look lovely! I wish I still lived in VA, even if it would have been a 2 hour drive from C-ville to NOVA. :P

hi dina! i think selling your items on your blog (or creating a new one just to sell items) is a great idea and has worked out really well for me so far. ebay is very time consuming and they take a significant cut of what you make, which is why i started selling stuff on jca and my blog :) it's at www.tippyscloset.blogspot.com if you need any inspiration
have a good weekend!!
and p.s. i love how rex is in the picture--too cute!

Hi, all! Finally back to the blogging world, Sunday, 8/30/09! We had a great week, very happy, but very busy...my poor blog suffered. I even lost a follower (I am sure) because of my lame-ness in updating quickly enough! (If only they could have held out till the fall when I would have nothing better to do when it is super-cold out...heehee...their loss...) ;)

I will be setting up the FOR SALE blog soon enough...thank you all for your encouragement. I think I like the name Dina's Delightful Discounts. Sound good to you all?

BTW, Joyce, I am glad that you have been looking at the Paris catalog, I find such inspiration from it...just can't do the looks now or I would melt. ;)

Ashley, the cardi is soft, the usual merino that J. Crew uses...I have no sensitivity to wool, though, so I may not be the best person to ask! :)

Marietta, we seriously love the same items...I LOVE it! BTW, did you ever notice I bought the scattered stone necklace (the one you wore when I met you)? I bought it because it looked so FABULOUS on you! :)

Tres Tippy, that's right, you do have a for sale blog! Ladies of smaller sizes, flock RIGHT NOW to her closet...she has some amazing goodies there! :)

The Outfit of the Day, I wish we all could go shopping...Golly, that would be AWESOME! Maybe one day!

You all have a great weekend. And get out and ENJOY LIFE!
