Three Outfits for One Day--All Are Red, White, and Blue!!!

I am feeling a wee bit tired today (Rex has been very trying already and it is barely 5 pm), so I won't being going on and on like I normally do. However, it is my FAVORITE holiday, so I knew I needed to post, if only to say "Happy Independence Day!!!" Yay, America. ;)

Also, I want for you all, right now, to go and check out the awesome blog known as Deco Aurora...it is the ultimate blog for people who love summer and summertime things...I am in love with the posts...Mslay (the blog author) always transports me with her beautiful pictures and lovely ideas. If you enjoy what you see, become a follower. Trust me, she won't let you down...

I will post three outfits because I have a spare moment and want to show that I still want to take an active role in my own blog (heck, I even commented back on the last two posts...imagine!).

Plus, the three outfits SLIGHTLY tie into Independence Day in that they all either have red, white, or blue. (And don't fret, I am definitely wearing something patriotic today and yes, we have taken photos...)

Here is the Polyvore for outfit #1, the outfit I wore to take Mr. Dina out for Father's Day.

Here I am with Mr. Dina, just about to leave for Father's Day. I am wearing the incredible Ruffled-hemmed jersey dress. I have a confession...as awesome as this dress is, I really hate ties on dresses...I feel they are superfluous (heehee), so I took it and tied it twice, so the bow would tie in front...ahh, much better. And aren't these shoes too die for? I wouldn't have even noticed them had it not been for 3-Penny Princess waxing poetically about them at this post.

Here is the dress a bit more buttoned up with the soiree sateen blazer. I think if I was still working, I would definitely teach in this get-up...so comfy and yet so polished!

Here is the Polyvore for outfit #2, an outfit I wore to a former student's graduation party (I taught him my first year teaching, and he is easily my favorite student ever).

Here is the dress that I waxed poetically about in this post, but in navy. Ahh, navy...you are such a fine neutral. I am also wearing the very pretty Seychelles necklace that I won on ebay for half its original price. The shoes are the Carina metallic leather sandals and they got me through Costco, so I can definitely say they are possibly the comfiest shoes that J. Crew has made that I have owned. (And, yes, you read that right, I shopped at Costco in this outfit. Yes, people were looking at me...I just smiled and moved on...)

Here is the outfit from the side. I love that bow at the front...very feminine.

There is no polyvore for outfit #3, but I have included a pic so I can clip to polyvore right from this post!!!

I wore this to go out to a dinner with a friend on June 29, 2009. We walked from my house to a restaurant about a mile away, so we needed to look dressy but be sensible. This was my take on "dressy but comfy." The dress is from Anthropologie by the company Maeve. I have noticed that this company makes their dresses kind of large. This is a six and is one of the few by them that fits closely. The other dress I have in a six is HUGE. Weird...

The shoes are by Born and are the sandals I wore all over NYC. The necklace is Erickson Beamon for Target and the clutch is the makeup giveaway bag from Clinique but styled by Trina Turk.

Here is the dress for Polyvore. It is A BRIGHT dress. You could definitely see me coming that night...

Happy Independence Day, you all...I promise, Coccodrillo Pencil Skirt is coming soon...but I also know a lot of you take the weekend off from computing, and I figure you all would rather miss this post than the review of that skirt.

I just love the ruffled hem dress. Hmm...is that a surprise? I like one of jcrew's knit dresses?!?! haha...I'm really hoping that while I'm in Boston, the jcrew I visit will have one of these dresses on sale :) The other dresses are beautiful on you. Hope you had a great 4th of July! :)

Love all the outfits on you - fantastic!! Happy (belated) 4th! I have had my computer off for 3 days and it has been fantastic! And I'm not planning on leaving it on for long since this is our last day at the river. We'll catch up soon!

Happy 4th! I love all of the holidays, they always put me in a good mood! Since we come from such a broad international environment, we add all of our own traditional holidays together with newly acquired ones and celebrate non stop all year round. We have 2 X-mases, old and new year feasts, hanukkah, mother's day and international woman's day, usually 2 easters and list can go on and on... So, we are just some happy celebrating people.. I think it's easier to count days when we are NOT celebrating smth.

Dina, you look fab in all your outfits , but the navy ruffle dress with the seychelles necklace is a fave of mine. Mr Dina looks lovely next to you, you are such a beautiful couple!

OMG - all these dresses look amazing on you! I love the first one and how you paired it with the pink sateen blazer - never would have thought of that! And the Cinema T-straps look fabulous on you! I'm so glad you got them! I like the navy ruffle dress on you too, and the red dress is super-hot! Red is a great color for you.

I hope you and the family enjoyed your 4th! Are you coming to Old Town this weekend for Alexandria's birthday and to see the fireworks on Saturday night?

AppGal: If you don't get the ruffled-hem dress, I will be sad because I know how perfect this item is for you. :) I also love enabling you.

Milly: Thank you...as a lover of your outfits, it means a lot to hear you like mine!

Jemma Ruby: I am positive the ruffle-neck will look good. I think this dress is underrated...it looks good on 90% of the people who try it on...

Which color did you get, by the way?

Kristin: Golly, my shoe closet has gotten slightly insane...but it is nice to know that you appreciate it! My hubby certainly doesn't...I will let him know that he is a heathen...now I have proof. :)

Summerilla: Hi! Thank you...if it hadn't been for you wearing the ruffle-dress that first time I would have NEVER tried it on!!! How are you feeling, btw?

GingerSnap: Hey girl! Thanks for following me...so sweet! I KNOW you would look so adorable in the ruffled-dress and any of the colors they offer it in would look fan-freaking-tastic with your hair and skin-tone. But I think navy would be the ultimate color for you!

luvallthingsjcrew: Can I tell you a secret? I LOVE DRESSES. But it is SO hard for me to wear them for about ten months after I have a kid...my body feels off or something in a dress. So I have basically been unable to wear dresses for about three years...LOL. ;)

HeidiG: Thank you...and we will catch up soon. :)

Slastena: I love your blog because reading it gives me a cool cultural education...you have the neatest ideas for celebrating!

Thank you for the compliment. It is rare that I can get my hubby to pose...so when I do, I usually get it up on my computer right away!

I hope you are doing well...you look so sweet and radiant lately!

Sarah: We had such a nice Fourth...too bad we missed you the last time we went to NYC. We'll be back...I may come up separately...so if so, we have to have a girls dinner or something. Mr. Dina says "hi" back, btw! You have a cool blog, too. So inventive...

3PP: Thank you for the compliments...

I almost didn't go for the navy/pink combo but it does look really good together...I plan on doing a lot with this color combo...it feels fresh or something.

That red dress cracks me up...it is really RED. And I normally look AWFUL in red...it must have some yellow in it...

I don't know if we are going to Alexandria's bday party. When I lived over on Taylor Run, I could watch the fireworks from my window (so cool), but with the two wee ones, it is unlikely we will make it. Although CW loves fireworks, so maybe I can justify just a girls night out... ;)
