Eden Velvet Blazer plus Ruffle Front Liberty Art Perfect Shirt Equals Casual Comfort!

I wore this about a month ago. I think I was (maybe) taking Rex to preschool. Sigh, I need to get caught up so I can go ahead and actually post outfits sort of near when I wear them. It probably doesn't matter too much, though, this outfit would work for today around here...it is AWFUL outside, Ms. Ida has made a mess of the Commonwealth of Virginia. So I could be wearing this outfit and you all would be none the wiser. :)

I am wearing another outfit today, which with any luck you will see sooner than later. I want to show you what I am wearing because it includes this really pretty cotton tank I bought at J. Crew over the weekend that I can't seem to find on-line amongst the new arrivals. I bought it in black and it has a single tier (at the neckline) of ruffles and the prettiest rosette. I know, more ruffles, etc., but it is a very nice piece, and can be layered in the winter (like I am doing today) or be worn on its own in the summer.

I hope to get those pics up by this weekend!!! At least I am now over whatever I had...turns out it may not have been a cold...I think I had a virus or a flu...aches everywhere, extreme tiredness, a headache, and a slight sore throat...no congestion or sneezing. Hmmm...

So I wanted to show you this outfit because some of you may be on the fence about the Eden blazer. I have reviewed it before, here, but this post is about how I actually styled it. The polyvore is above. Just so you know, the Ruffle Front Liberty Art Perfect Shirt seems to be sold-out. I am VERY glad I bought this pre-order. I guess it was pretty popular. :) It was also on the show "Community" on NBC. It was worn by the sort of high-strung, over-achieving girl...considering she is the character most like me (especially when I was in college), it seems appropriate that she wore it (I just don't have the time to look for her photo wearing it...too time-consuming). When I mentioned to my hubby that she was wearing my top, he just shrugged and said, "it figures..." Haha. :)

Here is the outfit without blazer. This is one of the first shirts by J. Crew that I can wear in a size 8 that doesn't hug my hips too closely. Either I am getting smaller (probably not...I seem to have hit a plateau) or J. Crew is actually making their shirts with a bit more give in the hips (AWESOME)!

Oh, yeah. This pic. It is called Mr. Dina has more fun with my camera than he should. And you want to know the worst part? This was the best pic of the bunch. ;)

Have a great day. I hope to get to leftover comments from the last two posts soon, so if you made a comment, expect a response today!

Very cute pairing! I know which tank you're thinking of -- I wish it came in XXS. It was so comfy but way too big on me. I'm seriously shopping crewcuts now-!

Dina, I just purchased this Eden blazer on Sunday and have already received it. I love love the color, and had intended to wear it with a dress i had purchased for a wedding. It looks totally awesome on you, tailored and very flattering. I didn't think to style it this way, but it's a great idea. Unfortunately, it looks a bit wide on me (can't do anything about the shoulders), and sadly, I'm thinking of returning it.

Don't you just love JCrew's printed shirts. I bought a different Liberty print with a pink theme - you know, my fav color - and just love it.

I adore my Eden blazer. I got it in the dark iris (purple) color and every time I see it in my closet, I sigh lovingly. I haven't had a chance to wear it yet, but I keep thinking of fun ways to style it. I love the copper color too. It looks great with the Liberty shirt! Wish I had snagged that one...and OH! I saw the shirt on Community the other night and ALSO pointed it out to my hubby ("HEY! That's J.Crew!") My goodness, why don't men care about this stuff? My hubby rolled his eyes at me...sheesh...

Hi, sweet readers!!! I am glad to know that so many of you liked this outfit. I definitely liked it but thought it might look a little country/little house on the prarie. Which is FINE, but didn't know how many of you all would love it, too!

JCBellemarie: I am glad I got the tank in a small, but yes, it is running large. I probably could have gone with an x-small. Whatever! I hope that they roll this tank out on-line and in an xx-small just for you! ;)

AppGal: LOL. I can totally see the scene between you and your hubby. Very funny. This happens a lot at our house. Two nights ago I saw the tiny buds shirt (the blue button down) on some show we were watching but chose to keep my mouth shut...didn't feel up to the ribbing from him that night!!!

HeidiG.: Maybe I will make the outfit with the tank my next post...or make it a post for later this week. Haha...life got away from me again. !!!
