Shopping plus Lunch in the Schoolboy Blazer is Perfection!

If you read Summerilla's blog, Sum Sunshine, then you already know that a whole bunch of us ladies decided to get together and shop and lunch this weekend. She did a great write-up of the event, so I won't spend too much time on the details, but it was perfection. I am so glad that I met these lovely ladies through the mothership (thank you for the name, gigiofca). I now have so many friends...I feel utterly fortunate every day that they are in my life. (Our friendships have grown so much that we now hang out even when we have nothing "J. Crew" to share.)

You also got to see me wearing "Jenna's picks" in the picture (at the bottom of the post) that Summer took of me. Man, was that an outfit! I actually really like the individual pieces on their own, but together, HOT MESS action. And this whole sweatpants as dressier wear? Not for this SAHM. ;)

Shopping and Lunch!
Shopping and Lunch! by dinagideon featuring J Crew

Here is the polyvore of the outfit I wore on Sunday. The schoolboy blazer was one of my purchases at the Arden clearance center. The only negative thing I have to say about the blazer? It is a LINT MAGNET. But I have a feeling no matter where you got the blazer from it would be a lint magnet, so I feel okay about it.

BTW, those shoes are the luscious Alessia peep-toes in spearmint. They are SO comfortable. You know I have them in grey and the root color, now I have them in spearmint thanks to my other boyfriend, Herr Ebay (just kidding, Mr. Dina).

The very lovely and wonderful HeidiG. decided to meet me at my house that morning, and then I would drive her to the mall in my car. It was nice having the company because I desperately hate driving by myself (I feel like such a weird-o admitting this).

I think it is kind of cool how HeidiG. and I were contrasts, me with the heels, denim, and the shorter blazer, and HeidiG. with the flats, minnies, and the longer library Shawl collar cardigan. BTW, I am only HeidiG.'s height because I have two inch heels on...at 5'8", I am two inches shorter than her normally. :)

I also want to point out that I am wearing the pastiche necklace in the rose gold color. I am so glad I bought it, I have worn it many times...so its full-price cost was worth it, in my opinion. I tend to wear necklaces, though, every darn day, so that does make a difference.

Have a nice day, all. I will try not to get too saturated here in wet-wonderland.

I'm sorry but you look bloody gorgeous in that photo - slammin' in fact! I'm seriously jealous of your alessia's....I've been hunting down a pair in that color forever....can't find any (sob)

I am learning that if I love something at J.Crew, I better well pay full price for it, or I'll just end up screwed...hence my $80 purchse of the Asymmetrical chiffon bow pullover which we all now will be half that price in a few months! Ah...if so, I'll get another color too!!

Look at you leggy ladies! It's always nice to have a driving buddy, I think.

The spearmint Alessia's = amazing! I have the closed toe version in cool graphite. I got them super discounted in a very frenzied KOP sale section one weekend last fall, and would have snagged the spearmint too if my size were available.

Those shoes! So beautiful! And Herr Ebay, haha! You're so funny and adorable, as always! I just love how the J.Crew community is so close-knit and fun, and makes me all warmy and fuzzy inside to see people become friends with each other! Call it the sentamentalist in me, haha! You both look so wonderful, and I hope you had fun shopping together!

Terrific, terrific outfits both! Comfy chic for HeidiG and casual prep for DinaG! :)

I have seen another article on wearing sweatpants for dressier occasions (e.g. work) in Lucky magazine, and as much as I'd LOVE to be the advocate of comfy workwear in my office, I'd probably be given an stern talking to by the big boss! :p

Yay spearmint alessias! I wish I could still wear them but it's getting colder here : )

Those colors all look AWESOME together! You really make that navy schoolboy blazer work! (I've had mine since it came out and I have yet to wear it - I never know what to wear underneath. The bright color paired with looks just fabulous -- what an inspiration!) You and Heidi both look so fantastic! Makes me jealous I don't live in the DC area - you girls are always off doing something fun!

You both look so beautiful. Dina, I love the velvet flower pin on the lapel. I have two and haven't worn either color yet. Thanks for the inspiration!

Ohmigosh, TWO of my favorite bloggers looking so crewaliciously beautiful that I can't STAND it! WAAAAH that I don't live in suburban DC (one of my fave cities EV-ER!)

I am so jonesing for that blazer, Dina. It looks fantastic on you and I love it with the spearmint - awesome combo!

P.S. I have to add this... the word that the random word generator has ordered me to type to "verify" this comment is hysterical. And it has NOTHING to do with you gorgeous ladies. The word (I am soooo not making this up) is: sluti. Geez.

Oh Dina, I feel the same way about meeting all these lovely ladies. I always have such a great time when I spend time with the DC JCA group. I am very blessed to have met you all!
And you looked awesome on Sunday. I am jealous of your beautiful schoolboy blazer.

As amazing as you look in the pic, you looked even more fab in person. I love-love-loved this look on you. Fan-freakin-tastic.

And it was so great to see everyone - what a great group of ladies. Can't wait to see you all again.

And the funny part about your "Dina's picks" that no one could really see is that you were standing right in front of the "personal shopper" sign - Wish that had stood out more. :)

Stay dry, honey. My parents' house is probably getting flooded right now or tomorrow morning...major stressing going on here...

What denim are you wearing? It fits you well and I'm always looking for new ideas.

Hi, all, I will comment soon on everyone's comments, but Nichi, I want to answer your question before I take a nap (Baby CW was up all night last night and I am pretty darn tired right now).

:) I love these jeans. They are the trouser jeans in indigo wash (I believe) from the Spring 2008 J. Crew line. You might be able to find them on ebay or on the JCA exchange. Unfortunately most people nowadays are making "skinny" jeans, which have a place in fashion (and heck I even wore a pair today), but these trouser jeans are great for Casual Fridays at work or more dressy weekend events. Hope that helps!!!

Good luck finding a pair, I will look out for you as well!

Can I just tell you all HOW MUCH I LOVED WEARING THIS OUTFIT??? Okay, the all caps probably does that for me! :) Anyhow, I hope you all who have this blazer will think about a similar outfit...it is perfect for so many different occasions!

Cloggsy: These Alessias pop up on a regular basis over at ebay, just kind of have to make it a saved search or something...I think a lot of clearance centers were carrying them, because they all have the black line through the sole of the foot! Good luck!

Amy Kelinda: Where do you live??? If you are ever close enough to us, we would TOTALLY go shopping with you, too. :) And then have lunch and good times, as well!

Drewablank: If I wore that sweatpant outfit in the comfort of my own home, Mr. Dina would give me a stern talking to, as well. Heehee. :)

JCAUNCmom: Hahahaha. Love it! Sluti. Two moms with two kids a piece...yep, that's us. :)

Nichi: Obviously I answered your question, but I hope you can find what you are looking for!!! :)
