Quick Hello from Florida!!!

We are having such a nice time down here...lots of sun, heat, and humidity. But since this is my favorite type of weather (I actually love DC in August), I am in heaven.

On Saturday, we arrived after a very uneventful flight (Rex and CW were awesome). Then we arrived at our friend's house and did nothing...it was blissful. Yesterday we got up, found our way to Magic Kingdom, and were able to ride four rides and walk around before we HAD to quit (yep, along with our two, our friends have two boys under 3--we have a travelling preschool). Then we ran over to T. Rex, a restaurant with a dinosaur theme. The choice for dinner last night was not by accident, Jim made reservations a while ago...after all, our #1 son is named Rex. Considering how expensive and themed it was we completely expected it to serve awful food but a good time. Well it turns out that not only was it a lot of fun and really well decorated, the food was really, really good. I had the Fillet Mignon and it was as scrumptious as the ones I have had at more expensive steakhouses. Mmm.

Today we are off to Cocoa Beach and it appears today will be less active...woo. Tomorrow will be a jaunt to Universal Studios (we have to go on the Simpsons ride). On Wednesday, the day we fly out, we plan on going back to Downtown Disney (where T. Rex is located) for the morning just to walk around and see the sites.

We will be back by Wednesday night, but I probably won't be able to post and/or comment back until Thursday morning at the earliest. (But don't worry, you know I always keep my word, even if it takes longer than I would like.)

I want to leave you with my Polyvore of the trip's outfits. Many of you have already seen this, but for those of you who have not, I felt like this post's pic could be of the set I created. I have worn these outfits without fail. I truly believe Polyvore has helped me with packing...it's official...I am not going back to the old way of packing...this is way better and way quicker. (By the way, I will post all of the in real life outfits when I return to NOVA!)

Have a great day everyone!

I am so jealous of you right now! It's raining here in the DC area, and we even had some thunder and lightning earlier today. It was gorgeous yesterday (was at the Cherry Blossoms - will post pictures on the blog soon!) - not so much today. Boo.

'Loving your outfits though!

I so miss Mr. Sun. :(

I have an off-fashion topic question: my husband and I will be in Orlando for 2 days in early June, which park(s) would you recommend for 2 people with no kids? We like fast/large roller coasters, ethnic foods, but Disney characters not so much. Thanks!

I hope you're having a blast in the Sunshine State! I think your Polyvore sets are perfect -- wear it all well! Can't wait to see the photos when you return.

And BTW - I think you're the only person I know who likes D.C. Augusts. I personally dream about getting out of town to the mountains in August. Heat + humidity = headaches and grumpiness in this household. Spring and fall are the best though!

I hope you are having an AMAZING trip!

Also, I was wondering if you've washed your cottage dress yet. If so, how did it hold up? Thanks!

Hi, everyone: Well...now that we are back...the in real life pictures will soon follow. Here is one thing I have to say again...THIS POLYVORE made packing SO MUCH EASIER. :) If you are like me and tend to spend hours packing, polyvore may be the way to go!

Thank you all for your compliments...with the exception of two outfits, I wore everything pictured. Turns out it can be pretty cold in Florida (on Tuesday it barely broke 60 and was VERY windy...I am sure FFM and Gingersnap could tell you) so the outfits that day had to be switched around. Oh, well, such is life!

Soon to be PhD: I bet you all WOULD love Universal Studios Theme Parks. We actually commented on how not appropriate it was for us to be there with two little ones. It was fine because both of us were willing to wait for the other one to ride rides. Rex could go on a couple of the smaller rides (made for 36 inches or taller children) but those are few and far between. CW only was able to go on the carousel. It's okay, she could care less...

As far as ethnic cuisine, I don't know how much Orlando has in that regard. I certainly didn't see the plethora of ethnic restaurants the way we have them here in the DC area (we have a lot of Ethiopian, Lebanese, Thai, Korean, etc.) but I wasn't looking for them either. Maybe FFM could pitch in her opinion? :) I hope that helps!

Amy: I haven't washed the cottage dress yet, but I will soon. It held up well on the trip...was a bit wrinkled by the end of the day that I wore it, but it is cotton after all. ;) I will let you know more when I do wash it.

Slastena: I hope you have a great time, too. I know that your outfits are going to be stupendous!
