Boden is Bodacious!!!

I love Boden (the British clothing company that makes cute, quirky clothes for the whole family) so much that I went looking for a Polyvore group to join. And, guess what? There is none!!! Or I should say, there wasn't one!!! I went ahead and created a polyvore group entitled Boden is Bodacious!!! Join if you are in love with Boden as much as I am...only one rule for sets: they must include at least one Boden piece of clothing or accessory!

Here is my first polyvore:

Thanks for looking, and I hope you will think about making some Boden sets!!!

I am also a huge Boden fan...although I haven't actually purchased a whole lot yet. My 5 year old daughter saves the Kids AND ladies catalogs, and reads them over and over. I even won her (after about 5 attempts) the Boden Fun Shopper bag from last summer. Great for trips to the beach. Can't wait to borrow!

When are you out for the summer? I'm not out until June 21st, my husband and kids are out on June 12th!

I love Boden, too, but I worship from afar. I love their catalog, but have never purchased because I always wonder about sizing IRL (I know they have the size charts and all that.) There are a few things in the current catalog that I have my eye on.

Could you give me a quick run down on how you think their clothes fit/work/etc, esp the dresses? TIA!

I shop from JCrew 70% of time, but I recently discovered Boden and I was impressed. I bought the V-neck cotton cardigan with big ivory buttons. And it's so soft and cozy, I ended up buying two more in different colors. The softness and the coziness of the cotton was nothing like I experienced with JCrew. It was also noticeably thicker than most of cotton cardis at JCrew, so it was a nice addition to my wardrobe. It's quite warm for a cotton cardi, and it's machine washable!

I am in the Boden club that Heidi is a member of. Yes, sizing tips are appreciated so that we may one day join you.

LOVE the cardi. Super cute. Their clothes have cute feminine details. Loveth.

Love Boden. However.....

If you are a solid size 6, you have a choice of wearing 4 or 8, as they have no 6. Thankfully, they have garment measurements, (which are not always accurate) and 'free' back and forth shipping. Like Zappos, they pitch free shipping, but of course, it's really factored into the pricing. As are the perennial 'sales' they have running. A great example of that would be the Uptown Chinos at $98.00. Yup, basic stretch chinos for $98.00. Of course no one ever pays that.

Cute stuff though!

Since living in the UK I buy lots of Boden. When in the US I just looked and never bought. I think their quality is better than JCrew's. However, I find the fit of JCrew better for my shape. Their fun skirts are the best.

The tote from last summer was a huge sell out. This year they tried to replicate it but the floral Union Jack does not look right IMO. I bought both colors last summer before they sold out as well as the fun skirt mini with the Union Jack in all three colors. I own skirts and sweater from Boden.

For sizing look at their website b/c it gives actual garment measurement and each garment is different. That is the only way to go and find the right size I have found.

I am yet to try Boden, but I do get their catalogues from time to time. I like how they make each model disclose somesthing personal . People come up with some funny stuff to say!:)And , of course, I love J Crew models in Boden.

I'm not familiar with Boden at all but the pictures you've posted are so cute, I'll definitely have to check out their clothes!

Hi all:

Thank you to those who have either joined or are thinking of joining Boden is Bodacious over at Polyvore. I don't think it will ever grow to the size of J. Crew Aficionada over at Polyvore...but my goal is 25 members and sets in the hundreds. :) We'll see!

For those of you with sizing questions (that were not answered here in the comments by awesome commentors--thank you, btw), I have made a separate post for you all about my size in Boden clothing. Maybe this will help some of you out a little bit!

In terms of it being like J. Crew, I think of it as J. Crew's older sister living in England. I am so glad they have a mail-order service here in the States. I do find their quality a smidge better than J. Crew, but I prefer J. Crew for my staples (they are a bit less expensive at J. Crew). The quirky, fun patterns? Have to give the edge to Boden. J. Crew has been doing a lot less of them lately, and that has actually had the effect of me going to Boden more for my clothing "wants."

Have a nice day, everyone...
