Cerise Bistro Pants...A Bright for a Bright Day!

So I decided that I would wear more color than I did yesterday, and hoo-boy, these pants certainly fit the bill (wait for it--the color is coming).

The look I created includes: The Bistro Pants in Cerise (J. Crew 2009), Zoey Whisper Lame top in champagne (J. Crew winter 2008), Allesia Peep-Toe Heels in root (J. Crew winter 2008), Seersucker Jacket in tan/metallic (Banana Republic sometime in 2006), a Fossil Watch, the ladybug yellow necklace, and a mohair muffler scarf in ivory.

The link to the polyvore is here: http://www.polyvore.com/cerise_bistro_pants...bright_for_bright/set?id=7158069

No, you do not need to adjust your computer...the pants are that bright. The color is so delicious, though, like a beautiful ripe tomato in summer. With the flash, the color appears even more saturated. Also, I should mention, these pants are so comfortable, and with heels, they are the perfect length!!!

I went for a more subtle look with the heels, top, and jacket. The necklace is a punch of color for my face, but is not too much color (because then I would look like a clown--yeah, that's the look for me).

The reason my hair looks stupid? I had just washed it and it is still wet...don't worry, it dried fairly soon (and no, I never blow-dry, pool does enough damage to my hair)!

I think I may want to try another top with these pants...any suggestions? I love the look I created but don't want to be limited to just this top.

I am glad these pants are this color. I cannot wear this color anywhere near my face...outside of purple, this is the worst color for me. However, they look great as pants. In fact, a male teacher at my school said he really liked my pants! How sweet! Usually it is only the women who notice my outfits.

Here is the outfit without the jacket. I actually like it better without the jacket, but I knew I had to wear something over top (it was only 40 degrees outside when I left for school).

By the way, I reviewed these pants and more in this post: http://mysuperfluities.blogspot.com/2009/02/pants-pants-and-more-pants.html

Oh, I love your outfit today. Are the shoes comfortable? I have been eyeing the zoey, now I want it even more after seeing it on you IRL

Love the pants! I think gray argyle would be cute with the cerise color.

I love these stupid shoes more than I should. They are really very comfortable and surprisingly versatile. I also bought them in grey. (See, stupid love!)

The zoey is so pretty. I also own it in nectar. The nectar is a better color for me, but the champagne works nicely with my huge collection of over-the-top pants (as you saw today)!

Thanks for coming on by...

Emily: Grey argyle? Yes, I like it! I think an argyle vest with a neat little crisp white blouse underneath would be so superb!!! Perfect...now I need to find an argyle vest...ebay is calling my name...

I love how much color you wear - I think it's great! I like Emily's idea of gray argyle. And I always love navy with crisp bright colors (I'm such a sucker for navy, it's really sad)

Looking at your past several outfits, and remember - this is based on pics only, not IRL:
-french sardine tee would be way cute and nautical
-ivory top in your copy cat outfit
-honey glaze beach sweater in your lame outfit
-cashmere short sleeve tee in citron/white
-yellow merino lea cardi

HeidiG: All fantastic items...I will definitely be using those ideas. THANK YOU SO MUCH!

:) By the way, I loved reading the words "lame outfit." I almost fell to the floor because it is just such a matter-of-fact couple of words. Oh, that special day and special outfit...

You look lovely, as always!
I love my zoey too and am going to get it in nectar.
Those pants fit you so nicely, very flattering. I think they would be great with brown, tan, cream, white, grey, pewter, navy. The catalogue shows them with blush. HTH
oh the striped painted tissue tank in slate or stone would be so cute with it.
OK I think I've talked myself into the pants. I'm tall and size 12 and was scared but they are very cute on you (a fellow non-petite, non size zero)!

I totally agree with you about the Alessias. I have them in grey, and am so sad I didn't buy them in Royal (navy).
Gorgeous as always. :)

Great outfit. Those pants fit you like a glove. They look great on you! I love Cerise I have two pairs of pants in that color and a blouse. What a slendid bright tomato red. One of JC coats is that color but they call it something else. I wear it to death! I have the zoey in both the colors you have. They are really comfy and nice too.

I don't know why but I never wear bright colors, in fact I never change my style much at all. Glad you enjoy changing it up! :)

The color of the zoey tank and jacket, not good. You have gone and just..disappeared. Pants fit great.

Cute outfit! I have the same top and shoes. They're both such comfortable and versatile pieces. The pants are a very cheerful pop of color.

Daisy: I am going to take your suggestions and run...LOVE THEM. I am getting the painted tanks (YAY) soon in charteuse and slate. This will be the perfect going out look for this summmer! :) I am glad you will get these pants, even as a size 12. I mean J. Crew makes them in bigger sizes for a reason, right? I say, "if they fit well on ya, doesn't matter what the size is..."

I am wearing a 10, btw, in case I forgot to mention it...

KatyO.: In a situation like yours...I head straight to ebay. :) Just kidding...but food for thought for later! Love those darn shoes.

Anon at 10:11: Thank you! If these pants didn't fit well...they would be the most ridiculous pair of pants ever! I will miss them if I lose enough weight for them to be too big. But--that said--I love my tailor and I bet they could help me out...

FFM: Thank you!!! ;)

Beth: Let's do it...wear our ladybug jewels and meet in Richmond. The Maymont is AMAZING. That said, is it too special for a two-year old? I would hate to go there and have them freak out at the sight of Rex! Thanks for updating your blog...I am going over there to take a closer look real soon!

Lissa: Well, wearing bright colors is kind of my thing, so I don't really change it up. Changing it up for me would be pressing the mute button on the colors. But whenever I wear non-brights, I look weird. Or maybe not...but it seems weird to me... You and your family look so cute, so if you are not changing it up, I totally get it. Why change what obviously isn't broken?

Where are you--I LOVE IT! :) Cute handle. Yeah, I agree. Definitely washed me out...that was what the yellow necklace was for...probably should think about a bright scarf next time. I promise (hand on heart) to wear the zoey with a bright cardi and the jacket with a bright tank... Thanks for noticing!!!

A bigger closet: I love all the pieces of clothes I wore yesterday...those zoeys and allesias have a lot of fans out there...
