A Few More Liberty of London IRLs...

Hi, before we get to the main event, I want to take care of some housekeeping...

1. Don't forget to enter my Liberty of London for Target Pillow giveaway. Rules, etc. are at that post, and I am really excited to give one of you fine, fine individuals this great little piece of home decor. :)

2. There is another fantastic giveaway over at She Hath Done What She Could for an Anthropologie Apron. I am HUGE fan of the aprons at Anthropologie, so I think you all should enter! Plus what a great and fun blog Peggy has...

Okay! Before you get revved up for my IRL photos, go on over to Gigi's Gone Shopping where she not only has IRL photos of many of the Liberty of London for Target items, but she also has an EXHAUSTIVE list (how does she find the time???) of everyone else's posts. Trust me, if you want to see something from this line, you will find it amongst one of our blogs. :)

First up is my favorite print from this line, the Isis print. This is the Liberty of London for Target® Halter Maxi Dress -Turquoise Isis Print and although it is sold-out on-line, you may be able to find it in a store, or at (gulp) ebay (for let's hope a reasonable price). I am wearing a size 6 and I sized it specifically for my bust. I could have tried the 4, but I loved the way the 6 feels, so no second thoughts here. I am wearing the halter on its tightest button, though, and that helps a lot. If it only had the one button, it would have been too loose. So good thinking, and a nice detail for the price.

I am 5'8" and with flats this is the EXACT right length on me. I have an inseam of 34 inches and my outseam (from my very high waist) is 42". I think if you are under 5'6" or have shorter legs, look into the petite option, which yay for you all, is not sold-out! :)

Here is the dress from the side. I LOVE this dress. Pool party anyone with mojitos? Yum. No glasses, though, and definitely a different pair of sandals.

Ah, yes, the insanely popular Liberty of London for Target® Sateen Shift Dress - Yellow Dunclare Print, which is sold-out in all sizes, but not in petites (!!!).

I am wearing a size 6, and it fits just where it should, hips, bust, waist, all great. Zipper is sticky, but I still managed to get it up by myself, but I love Gigiofca's idea of using wax paper to help things along.

And, yes, CW appears to be doing a jig. I tell ya, these kids of mine are something else. LOL.

From the side. A little pooch-pooch, but that is a combo of extra fabric and the angle I am holding the camera. No biggie! :)

Love the fabric, by the way. It is one of the only items in the women's line that is cotton...a very heavy cotton sateen that has a bit of give and seems to repel wrinkles (unlike some of J. Crew's cotton sateen).

And, finally, the Girls' Liberty of London for Target® Sleeveless Woven Dress - Light Pink, you read that right, this is a GIRLS dress. Size X-Large and the fit is insanely good. The bust does up just so (I am a 32 B/C), and the empire waist is exactly where it needs to be (I have a measurement of 30" where this seam hits). The hips are free, so wahoo! :)

It is cotton, lined, and the straps are plaited. Crazy, lovely details for the low, low price of $18. Some of you all may be able to wear a L or even a M! (Wow!)

It HAS POCKETS. 'Nuff said. Liberty of London for Target, you rock my world. :)

Have a nice day. Talk soon.

You look lovely in everything! Seeing the kids running around brings back so many memories of my days at home with little ones. Thanks!

I have the sheath dress as well and love it. The fit is perfect and so is the price. It makes you wonder about the huge markups from department stores. Another story entirely.....

With the popularity of LoL, I'm wondering if I'm going to see a lot of ladies with the same dress/blouse/tote bag as me! The LoL prints are pretty distinctive!!

BTW, I checked the Target website, and they now have the girls dresses and tops online in most sizes. Originally they had only toddler girls sizing.

Wow, that long dress looks gorgeous on you! It really IS the perfect length! I tried on one of the maxi dresses from that line and it was dragging on the ground, hahaah! I am toooo short... The sheath dress is gorgeous as well! I got several girl's dresses as well. I loved that they were cotton and perfect for summer. I wish more of the adult's offerings were done in cotton!

The halter dress was my first choice for me, but I missed out it seems. It looks gorgeous on you.

Thanks for the pics, Dina! I tried on the same girls dress in XL, but it SUPER squished my chest and there was some weird extra fabric folds at the top because of that. I was very bummed it didn't work because I love the print and the pockets! It looks great on you.

And even though my local Target never got the yellow shift (only the pink), I was lucky enough to order it online. I also ordered it in petite just in case. Yippee :)

I almost took the girls dress into the fitting room, but I didn't think my ta ta's would fit in it. May have to try though...

Did you see me in the other dress on my blog (I left you a personal note!)...my ta tas made it!!

I tried on that same little girls dress today but they didn't have the XL and the L fit but it was a little tight through the chest. I found way better luck with the little girls styles, the women's were a little big on me.

You look great in all your Liberty prints!

I hope you realize how lucky you are to be able to shop as much as you do and buy as much as you do. Lots of might have the money but not the time or visa versa. Wow. I really cannot believe how much you shop and buy but good if that is what you enjoy!

dinagideon said...

Anon: I do shop a lot. But I do a lot of returns (I like to see how something looks in the light of the house, not in the store with terrible lighting). I also sell A LOT of stuff on ebay and through the JCA exchange. I also give a lot of items that I don't wear any longer to charity.

I was incredibly poor as a child (we were on welfare--shocker!), so I know the value of money, you had better believe it.

Do you feel kind of dirty now, calling me out like that?

Okay, I said my comment in the heat of the moment. I just don't like being judged when this blog only gives part of the story. Seriously...I have way more going on in my life than what you all see. I know I don't have to defend myself, but I feel like something needed to be said.

Okay, I have calmed down...

Hey Dina
Thanks for the link to the petite sizes in the yellow shift dress. Your blog and other like it have done a great service for me in the past year as I transitioned back to the workforce, and I hope you keep doing what you do. It's too bad when people make assumptions about each other that just aren't right.

It seems to me there is anon loose out there, and some are making up names (JCA) trying to stir the pot on certain blogs posting nasty comments. There have been alot lately I would not take it to heart Dina, you look fab and I appreciate what you do.

Thank you for sharing your finds. I think we (your readers) are lucky that you include us in the fun!

I tried on that sheath dress too and loved it. Also I picked up the last dress you got for my friends daughter, it was so cute and the pockets made it irresistable!

I love all your posts and check in daily to see what's up at your house! Thanks for keeping me in the loop with the Target stuff. I feel like I did not get my due with the Liberty stuff but I have come to grips with it. I DO however have 3 Lands End orders coming plus one came today. (a few cardigans of cute, cute colors)
Hope you all are having a fab week with this lovely weather and talk to you later :)
Please keep me up to date with any new roll outs.

FYI....I am looking for some jean skirts... white denim maybe and dark denim a titch below the knee. I have 2 great ones from Harolds' but they closed down.

Harold's closed. down...not the skirts ;0

CW has funny eyes and eyebrows.

Beth--Denim skirts are a pain the rear to find nowadays! Can you swing me an e-mail? I have a near new J. Crew white denim pencil skirt from years ago that is a size 10. It is beautiful but when I tried it on last night it didn't fit in the waist. Let me know if that would be something you would like!

dinagideon AT aim DOT com.

Anon: Audrey Hepburn was in a movie called funny face and she like my darling daughter has interesting eyes and eyebrows. I have had people stop me on the street (strangers) who say her eyes are the most beautiful eyes they have ever seen. :) I tend to agree.

Grrrrrr - how about we don't say mean things about children -
Please it is just hurtful.
Let's keep the comments about the clothes

I have another LOL review scheduled for this weekend-- I got my yellow shift dress in the mail today, the petite size fits great! yay! :)

I never comment. I just happily read your lovely blog. But I have to say something here. It is TOTALLY inappropriate to take jabs at children. And to the very immature anon, if you don't like the blog, then don't read it.

I thought I was a follower, but I guess I wasn't... remedied! :) I wish my target had those cute girls dresses... we didn't get nearly the whole line in. So I jsut snagged the ruffle collar blouse and a picture frame. Thanks for your reviews so I knew what to look out for!!

I am sorry if I offended you, but I think you might have misinterpreted my use of "funny." I think her eyes and brows are "funny" because they are unusual for a baby's face, almost as if they belong to an adult. They don't seem to go with her face as far as maturity. I am sorry if you thought "funny" meant "unattractive" because that is not what I meant at all. I should have said, "CW has interesting eyes and brows."

CW definitely has Audrey eyebrows & eyes - she is always really thinking about something, pondering it. I love how expressive her face is!

Enjoying seeing the girls' clothing on you & Summerilla - but neither of you got the same dresses as E. Will have to post on that. Love the other IRL pics. I did try the yellow sheath - and LOVED the fit (and totally agree with you on the material - impressively well-made), but the color was just atrocious on me - just absolutely wrong for my skin tone. I got another dress (the black babydoll) and that one's going back. Tried the men's shirt - too big. Ended up keeping, for me, the tankini in the teal/cream print (that weirdly looks royal blue online!), and the black/white scarf. Yep, that's what happens when you send solids-girl to the LoL sale. :)

Summerilla said...

Dina - I love you and I love adorable CW who has one of the cutest little girl faces I have ever seen and gorgeous eyes. I'm going to have to agree with Carol - completely inappropriate to say anything about people's children. Taking personal jabs is bad enough but someone's beloved child? Seriously? That's taking going too low.

Give baby and yourself a BIG HUG from me!

Thanks for the link love.

OMG, I TOTALLY just got the sun dress yesterday in size XL. I was dancing in the fitting room. Love, love, love. I will try to put my review up later today. LOVE.

You look fantastic in the peacock dress. It will be too low cut for me. It fits you perfectly.

I dunno what it is about this line. It's not the hype on the blogs. Something about the prints is doing it for me. I think I have 5 pieces.

Ok, I got the post up of the girls dress. It's here.
