Liberty of London for Target in Real Life...

#1 Rule for these In Real Life Reviews: I did NOT do anything special when putting these items on...heck, even my new pretty hairdo was all back and away from my face. No makeup, no special shoes, etc. Some of the items I tried on and then tried to take photos of turned out SO blurry I had to exclude them from this post. :(

#2 Rule for these In Real Life Reviews: First is size, then material, then price (as best as I can remember--they are BURIED in my closet now).

Go back to this post to see them for yourself, or head on over to Only for Polyvore, Peeps to see the entire selection of items.

One thing, would you all mind commenting on which Targets near you have or DO NOT have these items? I ask because Sweet Tea in Seattle *had* seen and tried on items from this line but when she went back they were no longer out. They had been pulled and put back in the back! I would very much appreciate it and I am sure others would, too!

MY FAVE!
Size: Medium (Runs small--go up one size larger than your J. Crew tee-shirt size).
Material: As with most of these, it is poly, but it is a nice feel, and it is lined. Plus that print! GORGEOUS!
Price: $19.99.

Size: Medium.
Material: Poly. Look at those pretty pink, white, and black florals. Swoon. The lady checking me out (not that way, you pervs) thought this was the prettiest!
Price: $19.99

I know you all are gonna want this for yourselves, and I think you would be right. I really want the shift dress, too, but not to wear together, that would look terrible (but maybe better than the way I styled it here...haha).
Size: Small. Nice flair in the hips...so no need to size up if you have a maximus posterior.
Material: Sateen-y type cotton. Very soft. Looks very expensive.
Price: $49.99.

I like the fluffy ruffles and the colorful print, but I have feeling some of you all will not like it. That's cool, but remember, I have feelings, too. ;)
Size: Small. TTS.
Material: Poly. For those of you NOT in love with the print, it also comes in a ditsy (smaller and more subdued) floral.
Price: $29.99. I hope that's right. Be pleasantly surprised if it costs less, okay? :)

I have no idea why I love this tunic top so much, but I do. Cute!
Size: Small. Almost went with an extra-small, but the shoulders were a wee bit tight, so I stayed with the small.
Material: Poly. I love this print. Subtle peacock feathers.
Price: $29.99, maybe? But definitely no more than that.

I only get to show off this dress because the other one I had was VERY blurry. Oh, well. I love this shape, fitted bodice with the fluffly ruffles. This was another one that seemed very luxurious for the price.
Size: Small.
Material: Poly.
Price: Either $29.99 or $34.99.

Hope this helped some of you. Maybe I can retake some of the photos tomorrow. :)

I have been searching the Internet the past two weeks trying to find all the items they'll have in the collection, and you have a few great pieces here I hadn't seen. Looking so stylish and summery! Yeah, I'm totally going to be at my Target at 8 a.m. Sunday, Daylight Savings be darned.

Wow, they are all so pretty. I like the trench coat a lot.

Did you see the matching bucket hat to the coat? It was $12.99 and it was the ONLY thing in my local store. Thought of you instantly!

Dina,
Thanks for posting your IRL photos. I have to tell you - you look great in these clothes. I usually wear solids, but now I'm planning my Sunday outing to Target. This could be trouble.

Kristin said...

Thank you for sharing. They look great on you!

Cloggsy said...

Oh forgot:

Midlo Tnpk, Richmond VA - NOTHING but 2 girls swimsuits and bucket hat

Westchester, Midlothian VA - NOTHING AT ALL.

Hmph.

Check out ebay auction 170457432213 - She stole your picture of the trench! (her 2nd photo is from your 1st post on liberty stuff).

Hi, all.

I am glad this helped you all out.

Kristin:
I will talk to the ebay seller either tonight or tomorrow. She should at least give me credit. ;)

I will comment back on other comments later...promise! (And I am good for it...)

None in the Louisville, KY Targets yet that I know of... as of today.

I went to 2 Targets today and there was nothing anywhere, no clothes, no bike, no bedding and no teapot!

I will go first thing on Sunday because I really want the coat. I love all the prints, especially the dress with the ruffles.

Hi Dina! First time commenting - I'm semi-new to JCA and its famous bloggers :)

I stopped by my Target today (in Ypsilanti MI) and was so happy to see the poly halter tops, ruffle-y shirts, and dresses! No coat (boo) or flip-flops (double boo!) However I did see little girls' rain boots and some home stuff like portfolios and journals.

I picked up the two halters you did (peacock and pink daisy print). LOVE them!

Ack, I am so jealous! I went to the one by Lenox Mall in Atlanta earlier this week and they've got nothing. I'll have to try back.

Unfortunately I'll be out on business on Sunday and can't get to a Target - anyone have any idea when they update their web site?!

Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous! I went, as promised, to my big Super Target tonight, and they had a few selections but no clothing (frames, piggy banks, acrylic dinnerware, bedding, pillows, stationary, file/storage boxes, etc). I'm in Knoxville, TN. And I'm totally planning on going back tomorrow or Friday. ;)

Tres cute. OMG! Did you buy one of each Liberty for Target piece. :-)? I remember you saying you L-O-V-E Liberty fabric.

jcrewphd said...

My local Target didn't have any... heck the workers there didn't even know what "Liberty" I was referring to. I hope I get those halter tops, tunic and some cute stuff for my girls before they are gone.

Thanks for these IRL pics!

Great pics! Thanks for sharing. I really love the ruffle top on you. The colors & ruffle tiers are so pretty.

Love the bright print of the 4th one, but not the neckline/ruffles. Maybe I will feel differently about when I see it in person?

I just wanted a normal button down shirt in Liberty print. I guess those will only be available for men? *grumble*

Pamela said...

I am so jealous of you right now!!! I went looking at 3 different Targets and only found some throw pillows and lampshades at one store. NOthing at the rest. I will be up by store opening on Sunday to pick up pieces. NO LIE! Everything looks great on you, I seriously hope you are keeping it ALL!!!

I don't think I can resist this rollout (after ignoring the Gaultier one), so great!

Okay, quick update. I sent this e-mail to the ebay seller:
"Hi, a blog reader of mine contacted me to let me know that your second image of the trench coat (Liberty of London) is from my blog. I don't mind you using it, but would appreciate that you mention that the image is from my blog. I did not watermark that image because I needed to clip it to polyvore, but I guess in the future I may have to upload my images, take them down, and then re-post with a watermark. That said, if you simply contact me in the future, most likely I will allow you to use my image. It just is nice to be asked, you know?"

I am most irked for the person who buys the trench coat...they will receive a trench that is not the one photographed. Most likely it won't matter, but I like to see the ACTUAL product when I can. Whenever I do anything on ebay (which is only every once in a while), I always ALWAYS photograph the item PLUS the tag(s). I like to have my buyers know they can trust me that I am sending them the legitimate product.

Polyvore clipping and blogs using my images don't bug at all...I feel like they aren't making money from it, so more power. Of course I want you to acknowledge me somehow if you borrow the image...a la what I do over at the Mid-Century Mom blog when I use vintage images.

CDP is the reason I started using watermarks, but it stinks to think I now have to do it for my polyvore photos...bug-some.

So, I went to Target this morning. Saw the ladies' and girls' stuff (no mens or housewares). Tried on several items (there were no coats to try on though, boo). For the petite ladies, you will be able to fit into the girls stuff-- I only tried on one of the skirts (in XL), but the dresses and tops looked like they would fit, too.

Dinag, I ended up getting the top I mentioned in my previous comment. The print was great and I ended up liking the ruffles in person. :) Unfortunately, I had to size up b/c my size was not out... I'm hoping to exchange it for my regular size this weekend when more merch is on the floor.

Heading to Target today to check.

BTW-Did you see the J Crew Perfect Shirt and Dress in Honey Clover online today?

S said...

As of about 30 minutes ago Target on 14th St in DC had absolutely no Liberty stuff out. Booo!

They did have super cute light blue and brown whale themed bath items that made me wish I had a little kid to decorate a bathroom for though. :-)

Thank you so much for posting these pictures! I'm so excited for Liberty of London, and I am happy that the designs are so cute and reasonable! Oh, I can't wait until Sunday!

How weird that some Targets pulled the line back and put them back in the back (haha, that's a lot of "back"s for one sentence!). The Targets near my place in Houston didn't have the line out yet. COME ON, TARGET! I love the top with the pinky print and ruffly collar/sleeves and the tiered dress! AHHH I NEED THAT DRESS!

None at my store in the West End of Richmond. I just returned from a hunt. Ack. No luck.
I like all your new cute stuff and especially the tunic.
Hugs :)

Polyester. I am so glad you posted. I am staying away now and giving up the hunt. My skin and poly don't go together....so many thanks. I still cannot believe this stuff is poly. Even if it looks ok.

dinagideon said...

Hi, all, still CRAZY busy but am so happy to hear your reports and see your views!

Anon: I am glad that helped you. When I saw it was poly, I KNEW that this may not work for some folks, which is why I mentioned it. :)

There are a few items which are cotton, like the coat and the flip-flops...definitely hunt those down if you can!

Anonymous said...

Btw, you're new haircut is FAB!!!!

sparrowsandsparkles said...

The floral fabric on my dress (style 251110147) is 100% cotton - the top has 5% spandex in it (it's a knit) - it sounds like there is going to be quite a variety in this collection! :)

tm said...

the liberty of london website now has items (only housewares, some accessories) you can pre-order (or at least look at, upload to polyvore... hee). I am so getting a pair of gardening gloves this weekend. :)

Ema said...

Dina, I love both the halter tops on you (I have tried the peacock and liked it but it was too similar to the Havona and I don't wear that one often already. I should have tried the other one too). They didn't have the coat and the shift dress at the concept store in NYC but it looks like the coat runs big? I was disappointed that they didn't have cotton button downs in the classic Liberty prints (only saw a shirt and boxers for men). Anyway, it was a lot of fun.

LT said...

My target (Austin) had nothing last night- not a single accessory! Best believe I'm there first thing on Sunday! Thanks for posting pics- I'm obsessed with the peacock print, and I really like the colorful ruffle blouse- I'm not sure why you think people wouldn't like that one...

YAY!! My store finally got the Liberty. I was filling my cart as the salesladies were putting it on the floor - I was ogling everything. I didn't like the fabrics or fit of a lot of it (on me) so ended up with only one item. But dina, it's a doozy. I bought the shift dress in your trench coat print. The yellow/black/white sunflowers. I took one size smaller than my regular jcrew dress size and it fit like a dream. Another gal in the dressing room and I were playing dress-up. Fun! She got the same dress.

I didn't see any housewares/bags etc. It's just now being unloaded... but from what others are saying in neighboring states, things are selling out quickly, so I'll stalk the other stores in my area (I have close access to 4). All in all, this collection is a winner.

amy kelinda said...

Good news! The Target in Houston by Westheimer/Eldridge now has Liberty out! I got 2 dresses... from the little girl's section. Haha! All the "adult" pieces didn't look good on me, but I loved the little girl's dresses!

HeidiG said...

Target in Germantown, MD did not have any items out yet. Boo! But I did pick up a couple of cute pairs of shoes for E. Guess I'll be back there tomorrow...and the next day...need to see where I can fit in the trips with workshop tomorrow and church/ice skating Sunday. Don't think hubby understands the need to get to Target for LoL!!

And you look so fab in these - styling? Who nees styling? You are so thrilled with these clothes and that radiates. It's dina-nirvana!

Peggy said...

I found some things tonight after work and I did not realize until I got home and looked at your post again - I chose almost the exact same pieces as you!! I can't seem to make the tiered dress work though? Maybe as a skirt?

I love your new goodies! I was good and after MUCHO debate, settled on only matching print dresses for Gracie and me. Those freaking little girl bathing suits were almost the breaking point for me, my brain squeeed all over the place. I also really liked the prints on the men's ties and boxers, there was one little car motif that was especially dear. I didn't care for the button downs, though, surprisingly.

The Ypsilanti Target that Maureen went to a few days ago was where I saw all this, and lots more. There were wide fabric headbands for women, and three packs of skinny fabric headbands for girls. They had mixed fabric scarves, single fabric scarves, PIGGY BANKS!!!, totes, and cute laminated fabric clutch wallets, but not one single coat like you bought, unfortunately. I hope she checks back, since it seems like they didn't have everything out when she went. I am just so happy with the prices! I am most likely going back tomorrow for the piggy bank and clutch.

Hope you all are having a great weekend...still have not found any Liberty of London of my own yet!! :(
You look fab BTW..... love the hair and your spring outfits are great!! Any new Boden?

Cheesy - I actually did check back this afternoon and saw some lingerie/sleepwear, the accessories you mentioned, and piggy banks (!!!) and other homewares. I'm really hoping they put out the shift dress in the yellow floral print (the same as Dina's coat) - did you see it? I'm hoping to be there early tomorrow...haven't checked out the Ann Arbor location but maybe there will be different pieces there?

Thanks for starting the conversation Dina :)

Kristin said...

Well today's the day! I can't get out until after church this morning so I hope there is something left! Dina - FYI - bensimon has also teamed with LoL to created patterned shoes but I cannot figure out how to order a pair. Some boutiques in NYC seem to have them, as well as some Madewell stores but I do not have a Madewell in my state.

dinagideon said...

Hey, guys!!! This is such a fun post and I really like that we are able to share info and experiences. :)

I was at the store this morning, first thing (of course). I reported on it in a new post!

Still no housewares, accessories, or men's clothing at the Target nearest me (Skyline). Of course I am less interested in those things (except for you, Mr. Peacock piggy bank and you, Ms. Pretty Pops of color bags).

:)

dinagideon said...

Kristin: Salivate...those shoes sound so lovely. Hmm. :) Definitely need to check that out!

Cute! We have only a few LoL things at our Target as of yesterday. Hoping it all busts out for shopping this week. I'm looking for bed sheets that I can cut right up and use as fabric.

Dina - check out http://thebensimongirls.com/ . They've had a couple of posts showing various Liberty fabrics. I want, I need!

I hit one Target after church - they were still setting stuff out! I'm so glad they had items for girls 7-14 - I was disappointed when I saw online they only had toddler. I got tons for my girls, coffee mugs, the duffle bag for me and a scarf I'm not sure I'm keeping. I should have tried on swimwear but I had 3 kids with me so maybe some other time. :)

I finally got to a Target today with stock left from the weekend, they were wiped out! I snagged both the halter tops you bought (thanks for the photos, they "sold" me) and tried on a few other items. LOVE both the peacock and pink sunflower prints.

Piggy banks were also cute, as were the melame plates in black floral and men's blue floral shirts. Honestly, I thought some of the home items were lacking in quality.

Thanks for your reviews!!!
