Oh, the Tops...So Many Tops!!! (P.S. Cocodrillo Cardigan Alert!)

Okay...A LOT of reviews today. A LOT. So I will be sparing myself some grief and only put the barest of info. If you have questions, put them in the comments and I will (PROMISE) get to them. BTW, if you commented on this post or this post, I have written a response back.

Oh, and I am not wearing any makeup...and by the time I took pics of the downtown field jacket, well, let's just say my hair is a bit "wispy." You have been warned. :)

This is my actual outfit of today...The "uterus" shirt (which I see but prefer to see a bib necklace) in small, the summerweight bermuda shorts in a ten, and some knockoff capri sandals from Kohl's in 100.

I love this top. I think it is a great year-round piece. I am careful with it, but I will say the kids played with it and it was fine. So if you hesitate for that reason, take it from me, it's okay...

This is my hair today. I show it to you because as a young girl I always wanted french braids and my dad never knew how to do it, so I had to teach myself. Years later, I still amaze all my friends that I can french braid my own hair. As a SAHM, this is a nice, easy hair style, especially when it is AWFUL and HUMID outside. BTW, if I wasn't a natural dark blonde, I wouldn't have all those various colors in my hair. ;)

Okay...next...I bought this dress as a replacement to the twist dress. I LOVE the color plum raisin. I can see this in the winter with tights and boots and a fierce jacket. I bought this in a size small.

CW would not stop fussing...she is teething right now, poor dear...so I had to hold her for this shot. So cute!

I loved this when it came out, and sweet J'Adore These Stores reviewed it, but I was on the fence. I could NOT see paying full price for chiffon squares that would no doubt fray. But at 30 dollars, okay, we'll see. And I do like it. I especially like the color. I could see wearing this all mad men style, with a pencil skirt and maybe a belt around the waist. Hmm...

I bought it in a size medium. (That is my normal cardigan size.)

This Cocodrillo cardi is so darn cute. I will probably wear it open, with a tee or cami underneath, but I also like it all button up. This sweater, btw, is so comfortable, all cool cotton! I bought this in a medium.

Oh, and the willfah who hates this print? I warned you in the title, so don't complain about seeing it again...I did the title just for you! :)

Okay...if you click on the photo you will see me at three next to me now. It just makes me laugh. I put that pic there ages ago and didn't even think of it when I was taking the photograph. (Yes, Mr. Dina is at work and can't take my photos of me...boo!)

Oh, the headache be gone tee...everyone and their sister has reviewed this...too many to mention (if you have reviewed it, can you mention it in the comments so people can check your blog out)?

I find this to be the most NECESSARY tee I own. I get migraines so bad that I actually have been on medicine since they invented migraine medication (years and years ago). I am one of those rare people that started suffering from them when I was a kid (7 years old). I fear for my own kids, because not only do I suffer from them, so does my brother...obviously they are genetic. I even get the classic version...aura, nausea, sound and light bother me, ice-pick stabbing behind my right eye, etc.

I bought this in a small. Considering that it is such a bland color, I was sort of surprised that it looked okay on me. :) Must be because I need to wear it that much! This tee is retail only.

OMG. How I want to write poetry about this evening primrose cardi...it has great fit, fabric, and colors. Plus the print is absolutely too die for...

I bought this in a medium.

The downtown field jacket actually made me make this face...all insouciant. I feel kind of bad-a** when I wear it. Now, in the middle of summer, with shorts, it does look a bit ridiculous, but you get the general idea. ;) I bought a small and it fits so well. I cannot wait to really dress this jacket up with a pair of dark wash skinny jeans, boots, a beret, and a fitted tank. Then I will make Mr. Dina take me out to play pool. And there I will drink a beer. :)

Did this help you all? Good. Sorry I have no real "NEW" products, but umm, SAHM and B&M just don't mix...Sunday is just around the corner!

Hi, I'm a long-time reader and a first-time commenter! I love your posts and your kids are adorable!

Now, a quick question about the dress. I was eying it, but am uncertain about sizing, since the last few knit dresses I've ordered from JC ran large. I'm an 8 -- top and bottom -- but am a little hippy and busty. Did you have a little room in the hip in a small? Thanks so much for your help!

Hi, Adrienne: Thanks for reading... :)

I think a small would be beautiful on you. I now exclusively wear an 8 in bottoms and the fit was just fine in the skirt part of the dress...I love their jersey fabric for that very reason...so forgiving! I am glad I could actually answer a question in real time...what a novelty!

I am so buying the downtown field jacket!!!! I was worried it would be too boxy but it's not it looks fabulous and now I must own it too... Please Please have my size Tysons!!

Love all the new purchases you look beautiful. And can I just say I am completely jealous of your french braiding abilities. For my birthday dinner I wanted to do the Lauren Conrad french braid in the front she always does but none of my friends, including I, knew how to french braid. I was bummed. We tried for 30 minutes and were unsuccessful.

Thanks for the reviews. You make me want to buy that dress!

And you look bad a** in that jacket! It looks so much cuter on.

The Field Jacket looks soooo good on you! My favorite color this spring and summer was Tea Rose so I also like that sweater.

I looove french braids! Sadly, I cannot do them to save my life...on me, on others, on dolls...sigh. Perhaps one day I'll learn (ooh! you should do a blog braiding tutorial! yes indeedy!)

I also love the cocodrillo cardi. I actually took some IRL pics of it (and me wearing it) from my boston trip. Never posted them though...

Can you believe that I love your knit dress? I just saw it the other day and couldn't believe that I missed it somehow. I'll be passing on it since I just got the Pilar dress in the same color. I need more fall/winter knit dresses anyway!

Thanks for all the pics! Your 3 year old self is just precious :)

Thanks for the review of the downtown field jacket. I hadn't considered it but it looks great on you so now I will have to reconsider...

E loved the pic of CW - but sorry she is teething - that is so not fun!

Weird thing about French braids - I can do them on myself so much better than on others. (And E would be so cute with one...) I
Love all the tops, the dress, the jacket...Great pieces! That evening primrose cardi is esp gorge on you and you are seriously rocking that jacket.

You look great, Dina! I loved the evening primrose cardigan in the store, although I didn't buy it. The field jacket definitely deserves a trip to the pool hall.

I was in the J. Crew outlet over my vacation last week and thought of you. I bought the Tartine cardigan in light grey between the slight ruffle around the color and buttons in a matching color I couldn't resist.

I love the Beaded étoile cardigan on you. Nice color. I have been thinking about getting for a while now but I wanted to see IRL. Thanks for the review. Love it!!!

Wow, great purchases! You look fabulous...gym certainly is paying off. I'm impresse with the french braid. My daughter has hair well past her waist, and I need to figure it out! I learned to braid under instead of over, so my french braids come out inside out!!

I love the lizzard cardi! And I love the jacket on you too! You look great!

As for french braiding - I can do my own hair too! I actually can't do it on another person, only myself! haha - it IS the perfect hairstyle for those hot/humid days!

Hey Dina,
I went to the JCA event in Oc/LA area tonight and I only saw one person that I know of. I tried on soo many things tonight including the stadium jacket. I was really close to buying it except I didnt like the material. Maybe I might go back and take a second look though.

Hi Dina,
I liked all your new purchases! The crocodile cardigan was a nice surprise (i didn't expected it to look good, but it does).
The jacket you wear in the last picture is very similar to the ON cadet jacket (item 675612). I just mention this because I got mine today and I really like it (the brass buttons are very pretty). In case anyone out there is looking for an alternative.
Thanks for sharing your pics

You look HAWT in the Downtown Field jacket! The evening Primrose Cardi. also looks great on you!

I'm sooo ready to buy some fall clothes! But the prices are scaring me! Why do things seem so much more pricey this year? Maybe because I've been shopping at TJ Maxx... Love the cream and brown Tees!

Darling as always Dina! I really must get that field jacket, as it looks fab on you. Is it just me, or are there no free ship codes right now?

Plum raisin dress, primrose cardi, downtown jacket...love, love, love them. :) As alwasy, you look terrific in all the new pieces.

Hi Guys! I hate to do this but I am going to do a general response and then answer specific questions/comments...I want to put up more posts over the next couple of days and since my time without the kids is limited, I wanted to spend more of my energy on creating some new posts!!! I know you understand...

Thanks everyone for your thoughts...I was surprised by what you all loved...I think I agree that out of these the downtown field jacket is AWESOME! I hope I (cough cough) enabled a few of you...this is truly a great jacket and I can see wearing it for many years.

Summerilla: Yay that Tysons had it in your size...you looked FABU in it!

AppGal: Def. get the Pilar dress, it looks like it was made for you!

Oh, and I will publish the (very bad) poem I wrote today. It is truly awful. ;)

Sarah: Well, yay! I am glad you got that Tartine...it is such a great cardigan, in winter, I definitely get a lot of use from them. And with your coloring, the grey will look just lovely!

Maggy: I am so glad you CA Girls all got together. I know what fun it can be! CA needs an injection of more J. Crew...I always feel (when I go there--maybe once a year)...that there is not enough J. Crew...

I hope to see some of these fantastic fall pieces on you...they seem to suit you!

Ashley: Poem coming... :)

Lissa: Hi! The prices are scary...lately I have only been buying with an incentive...either educator discount or 20% off promos...I need to pinch pennies for sure. In fact, I am now going through my closet to try and find things to sell...it is now just a matter of finding the time to post them! (Oh, I love TJ Maxx, too!)

Anon at 5:17: Over at J. Crew Aficionada, they have a few free ship codes...but they have been few and far between. It is weird...

Here is one that I found over there, though...
IDJ-899 {free shipping on $150+; expires ?.??.??}

HTH!

You all enjoy Monday (smile)...

Was this the dress? I couldn't 100% tell from the pic, but it looked like the same neckline. JC only had navy, gray & black online - and only the navy in my size.
