Does it Count if All I Did Was Wear a Scarf?

Well, Happy Wedding day to the new Duchess Catherine and Prince William. (BTW, I totally forgot that he is Prince William, not just Wills--how very American of me, we have a county just to the south of us called Prince William...I wonder how many poor VA souls think it was named after him and not this guy? LOL.)

Wow. Kate looked beyond beautiful this morning. I mean I literally felt my breath catch when I spied her in her dress. I am wondering how close Prince William was to losing it when he saw her for the first time this morning???

Anyhow, even though I am an Anglophile, I do have toddlers and an insanely busy life, so I did not have the energy to get up at 5 am to view the ceremony live. I was more than fine with catching re-caps and still photos after the fact...this is why 2011 is easier on us moms than 1981 must have been. :)

I am simply celebrating (emphasis on simple here) by wearing my Boden Union Jack Scarf that I received this week. I love that I have a tiny bit of Britannia with me today as I do regular mom things like chores, playing outside, and in my strange world, blogging. LOL.

Above is my outfit which I am calling "the easy, breezy Anglophile SAHM."  Scarf is made from a lightweight wool that is not itchy and the colors are super-saturated.  I can see why this scarf costs $58 (although I purchased it with a promo).  The tee is a striped tee from J. Crew a few years ago that sort of reminds me of Dennis the Menace and a sailor, except made for me!  The jeans are a pair by "Seven" not 7FAM...and the shoes are my Japanese sandals that just happen to match the tee.  :)

Close up of the scarf.  I knotted it in the front, swung the knot round the back of my neck and then knotted again to create this scarf tying technique.  I like this technique, allows the full impact of the scarf to be felt without being too bulky.

If you open the pic up, you will see the detailing in the print...it is very pretty and I adore the colors.

Although this is a red, white, and blue scarf, the jingoistic patriot inside of me will not allow me to wear this on Independence day.  Ha.

I need this photo for polyvore.  Seriously, how are people clipping items to polyvore from Boden???

So I did this SAHM outfit all in honor of this woman's wedding.  Hurrah!  And that dress, gobsmacked am I!

Oh, what the heck.  Here I am in my bridal attire.  Not quite Kate Middleton, but for 80 degrees on a Washington October day back in 2001, seemed perfect.  ;)

You all enjoy your day. Cheers!

Boden Clothing Appears on the Rachael Ray Show! :)

I don't normally watch the Rachael Ray show (I like her, just don't really care for talk shows) but when I saw that the stylists in the Gretta's London Style Takeover segment had used Boden clothing, I definitely knew I had to check it out! It aired on Friday, April 22, 2011, but I clearly wouldn't have seen it that day, even if I was a big fan of her talk show, as I was preparing for this more secretive love of mine (Boden vs. Rush, who would win?). ;) LOL.

All the women they styled looked super-cute "before" their interventions, but the stylist choosing exactly the right style and shape and size for each woman's unique body made them look spectacular in the "after" portion. I wouldn't mind being approached on the streets of London and being styled in all Boden...especially since some of the women received Boden Limited Edition pieces. Be still, my heart!

From what I can tell, these are the pieces that the stylists used:

Lady Number One:
Rainbow Tweed Jacket
Rainbow Tweed Jacket. Yep, the Boden Limited Edition. The color looks smashing with her pale complexion and gorgeous red hair.

Perfect Silk Top
Perfect Silk Top. (I think it is the perfect silk top!) Yum, that green is so pretty with the rainbow tweed!

Lady Number Two:
Spring Trench
Spring Trench. This is such a great staple, and I love that they belted it in the back (that is my fave way to wear a trench, provided it isn't raining of course).

Ruffle Silk Dress
Ruffle Silk Dress. Yet another Boden Limited Edition! :) That green color (parakeet is the name) is very pretty with this mid-blonde's hair, eyes, and skin. Lovely!

Lady Number Three:
Fringed Tweed Jacket
Fringed Tweed Jacket. Oh, wow. This looks really nice on her and I love how the collar kind of flops a bit giving the jacket either a collarless look OR a collared look (I know it was the wind playing with it, but still, very cool)!

Ruffled Ribbon Necklace
Ruffled Ribbon Necklace. I own this same one! Squee! Looks very polished and put together with the jacket...must remember this combo!

Slouchy Buckle Bag
Slouchy Buckle Bag. I nearly purchased this in pre-order, but canceled at the last minute. The size is perfection for a stylish mommy on the go, so I must seek it out on sale. :)

Lady Number Four:
Pleat Detail Wool Dress
Pleat Detail Wool Dress. I have heard that this dress RUNS TINY through the hips, but this lady clearly has the right body shape for the outfit, it looks very pretty on her, especially the plum color. Don't expect that I will be buying this anytime soon, lol.

Beaded Necklace
Beaded Necklace. The color choice they made (silver, not the blue version shown above) is exactly what this dress needed. :) I like this stylist!

Petal Clutch
Petal Clutch. Prettier in real life than on-line.

Did you all catch any others? That was all I could see, but I bet some of you hawkeyes out there could find more!

BTW, Boden Babes, if you have a Boden review for the Weekly Roundup tomorrow, would you mind e-mailing me at dinagideon AT aim DOT com? I have seen a few this past week, but there may be some that I have missed! Thanks!

Boden Celebrates Kate and Will with Special Savings!

Sadly, it seems that Johnnie B. was not invited to the wedding.  I am sure he will still send a present.

Ooh, yes, this Friday all the world will be abuzz (bzz, bzz, bzz) over the Royal Wedding of Kate Middleton and Prince William.  I think it is all very lovely (I am a girly-girl and a glitzy, fab, well-turned out wedding sounds just fab!) and I am pleased that Johnnie B. seems to think this wedding is worthy of a special offer.  :)  LOL.

For the next few days, if you spend $150 or more, you will receive 20% off and receive free shipping.  There have been better deals, yes, but this is a great deal if you need to buy a few things all at once.

Just so you know, I have not taken down the 15% maternity coupon from my sidebar, which is good on all items, at all prices, and includes free shipping and returns.  (Love this code!)

Happy Wedding Week, everyone!

Seems Boden is the J. Crew of the U.K.--(Or So Says this Article...)

Even dinagideon isn't this daring...

Because I always have time on my hands (I seem to hold CW a lot these days...btw, she is feeling a bit better), I need to keep myself occupied, yet have something to keep me amused while my little ones sleep or eat or whatever. So I do really random searches in Google Images on clothing I own. Yes, I just admitted that. I like to see what other people look like in my clothing, and I am always on the hunt for more images to clip to polyvore.

Tonight, I searched "fun skirt Boden" over at Google Images, and lo and behold, I found the image at the top of this post.

But it got even better...this lady is a journalist over at Britain's Daily Mail, and she wrote an article about HOW INSANELY POPULAR Boden is with a certain set of women (even elevating what they do to a cult--love it)...women who get onto mumsnet and figure out how to meet up and shop for Boden, or talk about Boden, or talk about when Boden is going to have a sale, etc. Hmm...sounds a whole lot like J. Crew Aficionada. Wow. So even though over here in the United States there are only a few of us diehard fans of Boden (and even less of us who actually blog about it), it seems we would be in good company across the Atlantic.

And I suspect they would adore us, too. After all, we know a few things about waiting with bated breath for a sale. Heehee.

Enjoy the article...here. Have a nice night, all.
