Two Pictures from the Beloved Paris Catalog...

Aren't Vanessa and the other beautiful model (I think she is from Belgium) just darling in this picture? They always model so well together. I also loved all the images of them from my second favorite catalog, the Scotland one from November 2007.

I actually own the striped tissue turtleneck in stone. It is surprisingly versatile...although I don't think I will be doing this particular look anytime soon! ;)

Here are they are posing in very similar styles, only Vanessa is showing some leg and the Belgian model is showing some cleavage. It is all very tasteful, mind you, but for J. Crew, a bit risque!
I own the dress with the ruffles on the bottom (Vanessa's), but in black. Funny story--I recently tried the dress on and it fit beautifully and made my legs look so nice. So I run into Rex's room to show Jim, and he is like, "Ugh, what is up with those ugly ruffles?" I, being a girl and all that, got very upset and stormed out of the room. Later I realize he didn't mean me, but rather the dress. I sometimes wonder about Jim...this is such a darling dress and he hated it.

I think this dress is a contender for this Sunday's brunch because it has ruffles (and I don't own much with ruffles), but it depends on the weather. If it is warm (my hope), then there is no way I will wear it...it is 100% wool.

And do I care all that much about Jim's opinion? Sometimes, but it really depends. He HATES the cabochon necklace that I wear a lot and I still wear it...so there you go!
Tomorrow I will put two more images from this catalog up for your viewing pleasure.

BTW, don't forget I have more images from this catalog (though not as sharp--better light this time) located here: http://mysuperfluities.blogspot.com/2009/02/my-obsessionthe-paris-catalogseptember.html

I love the Paris catalog! I have the dress with the plunging neckline in the suiting material. I may take it with me to DC. I have no idea what I'm wearing Sunday.

Love the pics. Dress is adorable. I am about 99% sure I will be in white jeans (nice ones, though) with rufflage in some form on the top. I have a massive bruise along my left shin that is about 5 inches long from falling over the puppy gate/fence, plus my only J Crew dress is the cashmere Flora dress and given my leg, I woudl only wear it with black tights, and I think/hope it will be too warm for that. We'll see. Maybe I should post some suggestions and get a vote. I don't know if I'll be that organized. The only requirement is that it be non-puppy-friendly as I have been in puppy-acceptable clothing for over a week now.

Is this the NEW catalog? I'm lost. Don't have mine yet! Thanks for posting pics. I love your latest outfit post and the photo of you in the orange top! And ...by the way Maymont is a park with goats and chickens. We CAN go there. (or children's M.) Lots of space for running and yelling, rolling down hills. Forgot to fill you in on that.:)

Joyce: I bet you look so nice in that dress...

Yeah, I wonder when my clothes will speak to me and say, "Dina, wear me on Sunday!" :)

HeidiG: Your bruise sounds PAINFUL. I hope you are feeling better.

You should do a poll. I love checking mine...it is actually sort of exciting. RIGHT now, teal, yellow, and navy are neck and neck with pink, green, and khaki. I wonder what will happen? I guess to make sure I have the right clothing I should wash all of the items in these colors!!! ;)

Beth: This is the catalog from September 2007. This is for many JCAs their favorite catalog (me, too, obviously). Many of the JCAs are sort of depressed that they threw theirs out and because I am just that obsessive, I still own it and have the ability to put it on the web for everyone to enjoy. There are more pics coming...

I would love to see April's catalog...it has been pumped up quite a bit lately!

So funny, I saw that ruffled jumper-style dress, and thought to myself, Ooh I'd love to have that in the black! And that's what you have! :) What do you generally wear under it? Just curious...

Anyway thanks for sharing the old catalogue pics! I wasn't a Jcrew "Aficionda" (didn't have a store in my town) before 2008 so I've never seen these older images before. :)

Mrs. Mer: Welcome!!! When I wear that ruffled hem jumper, I typically will wear a fitted turtleneck or collared top under it. If I was a bit more daring, I might consider going without a top under and wear a short-sleeved cardigan over it...but I still lack enough confidence to do that!!! And definitely flats...at 5'8", I don't need any more length added to my legs...in essence turning this into a micro-mini. :)

There are more images coming today!!!
